One of the smaller properties that lie in and around Puerto Varas, the Casa Molino Guest House is a real gem! Offering a much “smaller” experience all round, it has just a handful of rooms and, as such, really prides itself on the service and attention to detail given to each and every client.
The Atton el Bosque, built in 2007, is a good example of the newer wave of hotels being introduced by developers rather than hoteliers. Not that this is a criticism as this is a great hotel, at a very good price, in one of the best areas of the city for dining in one of the many high quality restaurants in Santiago.
The Explora Atacama has long been setting the standard for top end accommodation in and around San Pedro. With its stark and bold design, it stands out from the simple adobe buildings of the town and the rugged beauty of the desert.
Located on the ridge that overlooks the Hotel las Torres, the ecocamp is a quirky and interesting property to stay in while visiting this stunning park. Each of the domed rooms offers a warm and intimate place to escape from the ravages of the Patagonian weather and the perfect base to use while exploring the surrounds.
The Dreams heralds a new era of high end, luxury accommodation in Punta Arenas. Designed to cater for the large cruise ships of the Pacific and the smaller cruises around the Cape Horn, they have really thought of everything; stunning views, outstanding rooms, facilities and a casino.
This charming, converted town house is one of our pick of the bunch while staying in the Valpariaso. Set high up on the hillside, the Zero Hotel is ideally located for wandering around the multi coloured streets or simply relaxing by the terraced pool and lounging area that look magnificently out to the bay and the Pacific beyond.
As with our opinion of the Aubrey, if you are looking to stay in a chic and modern hotel while in the capital, then you could not do too much better than considering the W Santiago. This modern and sleek property is leading the way in bringing Santiago into the 21st century and has played host to such big names as Beyonce amongst others.
Located in the chic Bellavista region on the capital, the Aubrey is a relatively new venture from the owners of the superb Pasta e Vino restaurant in the nearby Valparaiso. Definitely one of the most designed of the city’s hotels, the hotel features a second of the award winning restaurant, but for guests only, amongst other things.
Another beautifully thought out property in the Puerto Natales area, the Temauken really does a fantastic job at catering to the lower end of the market. Outstanding views out from the rooms, a really cosy and inviting main area and just a stone’s throw from the centre, make this a really good choice for those on more of a budget.
One of the largest and arguably most “designed’ of the hotels in and around Puerto Natales, many would say that, on paper, the Remota is number one. There is no doubt that the entrance hall, facilities and rooms are to the very highest of standards but, for us, it has been designed to look good, rather than be a true haven.
