Torres del Paine

Tierra Patagonia

First off we must emphasise that we are big fans of Tierra properties. They seem to know intuitively what their customer needs and provide service that is first class. This property is a relatively recent arrival to the area surrounding the Torres del Paine National Park and we were very exited to visit!

Patagonia Camp

Definitely one of our favourite camps in and around the Torres Del Paine, the look and feel of the camp is superb…but, due to its location a good hour from the Park’s northern entrance, it is a bit of an “inbetween” hotel for most. What the Patagonia Camp does provide is a quirky and luxurious base for those looking to do plenty of outdoor activities.

EcoCamp Patagonia

Located on the ridge that overlooks the Hotel las Torres, the ecocamp is a quirky and interesting property to stay in while visiting this stunning park. Each of the domed rooms offers a warm and intimate place to escape from the ravages of the Patagonian weather and the perfect base to use while exploring the surrounds.

Remota

One of the largest and arguably most “designed’ of the hotels in and around Puerto Natales, many would say that, on paper, the Remota is number one. There is no doubt that the entrance hall, facilities and rooms are to the very highest of standards but, for us, it has been designed to look good, rather than be a true haven.

Hotel Las Torres

As with the handful of hotels that have the privilege of being inside the National Park, Hotel las Torres has a superb location, right at the foot of the Torres themselves. On top of being inside of the park the Hotel las Torres benefits from being the only hotel to own land inside the park, allowing them a far more private view of this famous park.

Awasi Patagonia

Awasi is one of a kind in this remote area and we think they got it right. First of all, you do get the impression from the management team that nothing is out of reach to make their guests happy. At the same time, the service and interaction is very informal.

Temauken

Another beautifully thought out property in the Puerto Natales area, the Temauken really does a fantastic job at catering to the lower end of the market. Outstanding views out from the rooms, a really cosy and inviting main area and just a stone’s throw from the centre, make this a really good choice for those on more of a budget.

Hotel Cabo de Hornos

Arguably knocked off the top spot of the hotels in town by Dreams, the Cabo de Hornos is still worthy of consideration. Located right on the main square of the town, it harks back to the time when Punta Arenas was the capital of the "white gold" rush. A converted, Parisian-styled house, the hotel and rooms have a relatively grand feel to them.

Explora Patagonia

Once the only option in and around the Torres del Paine, the Explora has long led the way in this area as far as views, service, food, accommodation, activities, guiding, facilities…etc, etc goes! Today, however, with the arrival of the Tierra and Awasi properties, the crown has been wobbling a little!
