The sister property to the Lastarria Boutique Hotel, Luciano K is a stylish boutique hotel named after one of Chile’s most famous architects. With its art deco style and lively rooftop bar it’s a very different style of property to the calm and classic Lastarria B. Despite being a bigger property with more rooms, the owners have kept the same excellent service with more than one member of staff per guest and the same attention to detail.

Facing the leafy Parque Forestal at the northern edge of the Lastarria neighbourhood of Santiago, the hotel is a short walk from lively Bellavista and the cafés and restaurants of Lastarria.

The hotel is set within a converted block of apartments designed in the art deco style by the architect Luciano Kulczewski. On the ground floor is the hotel’s reception and entrance hall, sauna, bar and breakfast room with guest rooms on the floors above.

The hotel has 38 rooms, divided into superior, deluxe and suite categories. All of the rooms have features from the original building, which have been lovingly restored, such as the parquet flooring and glass bathroom doors. While we preferred the rooms on the Parque Forestal side, the triple-glazed windows block out any noise from Alameda.

Once the tallest building in Santiago, the hotel’s best feature is the pink rooftop terrace with its heated outdoor plunge pool and different viewing platforms looking out over Santiago and Cerro San Cristobal. Guests can also enjoy tapas and drinks up here in the evenings.

Original doors and flooring don’t insulate against corridor noise
